Dr Matt Scarborough trained in Northern Ireland and London before moving to Oxford as a Specialist Registrar. He was appointed as a Consultant at OUH in 2009, and divides his time between General Medicine, Infectious Diseases, Medical Microbiology and the Bone Infection Unit. He is currently collaborating with 16 other UK centres in the OVIVA trial, which aims to compare the efficacy of oral vs. intravenous antibiotics in the management of bone and joint infection. Other research interests include bacterial meningitis and staphylococcal bacteraemia.
